Above the Clouds

From Palm to Resurrection:
The Story of Jesus’ Triumph

In springs embrace, with joy on every face,
Jesus rode in on a donkey, fulfilling ancient Grace.
“Hosanna!” they cried, with palms in the air,
A king so humble, our hope from despair.

As “Palm Branches Wave” and children sing,
“Hosanna in the highest,” their voices ring.
A moment of joy, a prophetic sight,
Yet overshadowed soon, by darknesses coming night.

Holy week unfolds, a somber story,
Of love betrayed, a required ransom, for the path to glory.
In Gethsemane’s embrace, beneath the whispering leaves,
A prayer, a plea, “Father, if you are willing, let this cup pass from me.”

“Yet not my will, but yours,” he softly yields,
Embracing the cup, he submits, and lays down his shields.
Betrayed with a kiss, into the hands of enemies he’s placed,
His path to the cross, with sorrows traced.

Before Pontius Pilate, the truth was weighed,
“I find no fault in Him,” yet to the crowd’s will he swayed.
“Crucify Him!” their voices in unison conveyed,
As Peter, in the courtyard, His master betrayed.

Led on a path of sorrow, mocked and flogged, a crown of thorns on his head,
Towards Golgotha’s Hill, where his blood would be shed.
Bearing the weight of the cross, in anguish and in dread,
As he moved with a purpose, His Divine love would spread.

Under a darkening sky, he was put on display for all to see,
Nails pierced His hands and feet, on the hill called Calvary.
“Father, forgive them,” love through agony conveyed,
In His suffering, the foundation of our redemption laid.

The earth trembled, and the Heavens cried,
As he bowed his head, for every sin he died.
“It is finished,” he proclaimed, His mission complete,
In His sacrifice, death and love did meet.

As silence fell, the sun refused to shine,
The curtain tore, the earth did quake, this moment etched in time.
His followers wept, their hearts filled with dismay,
Yet hope’s ember flickered, it would not go away.

In a garden tomb, his body laid to rest,
Sealed by a stone, his death became the ultimate test.
Guards stood watch, the tomb secure,
They were unaware, His love would forever endure.

As dawn’s first light caressed the earth, a divine plot did unfold,
The stone that sealed our Savior’s tomb, by angel’s hands was rolled.
This act, not just of power, but a testament of love so grand,
Announced to all creation, that death could not His life demand.

To Mary, weeping, the Risen Lord appears,
Her sorrow turned to joy, Her faith conquering all her fears.
“Go, tell my brother,” Jesus did command,
A mission of hope fulfilled, all part of His divine plan.

On the shores of Tiberias, to the fisherman He came,
Calling Peter by name, love’s restoration to reclaim.
“Feed My sheep,” He instructed, three times he explained,
Restoring Peter’s calling, whose faith through denial had waned.

To His disciples, he appeared, in rooms locked tight,
“Peace be with you,” He said, dispelling all their fright.
With wounds in His hands and side, proof of his fight,
He commissioned them all, to be His light.

Before ascending to Heaven, upon a mount He did stand,
“Go and make disciples of all nations,” His great commission, His command.
“Baptizing them in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit,”
Teach all I’ve commanded, let every heart hear it.

And Jesus left us, with a vow so divine,
“I’ll be with you always, to the very end of time.”
From palm-strewn paths to the tomb’s dark night,
The truth of Jesus, one of betrayal, redemption, love and light!

So let the heavens dance, let the earth’s chorus sing,
All praise and glory, to honor our risen King.
We are redeemed, through grace we’re saved,
By the blood of Jesus, His love is forever engraved.

"Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age"—Matthew 28:19-20
